The North Shore - Barrington Association of REALTORS® (NSBAR) represents real estate licensees and others with an interest in real estate who wish to expand the professionalism of the real estate industry. NSBAR provides education for its members and the public in order to enhance the image of the real estate professional and to build the knowledge base of the public. With over 3,700 members and two staff offices, NSBAR lives up to its motto as "The Gateway to Education, Information and Technology."

What We Offer...

Continuing Education
Illinois real estate salesperson licensees must complete 12 classroom hours of continuing education in order to renew their licenses by the renewal deadline of April 30, 2005. Renewal deadline for brokers is April 30, 2004. NSBAR offers classes, home study, and online courses.

Computer Training
NSBAR offers hands-on computer training. The student receives 2 1/2 hours of training for $60 for non-members, $50 for members. Or perhaps you would prefer one on one training for $60 an hour either at our office, your office, or your home (for members only).

Courses include Windows 98, Windows XP, Internet training and much more. E-mail or phone NSBAR for a list of our current courses or to give us your suggestions for computer training.

Professional Education
NSBAR offers high quality educational programming on such topics as agency law, fair housing, antitrust, license law, financing, counseling, tax updates and much more. Busy? Now you can take courses that fit in to your busy schedule.

Information
Which communities have transfer taxes and who pays the taxes? What are the sign ordinances for each community? All the facts needed by the real estate professional to provide the highest quality service to customers and clients are within reach at NSBAR.

Forms & Supplies
Real estate is a very technical business with a proliferation of mandatory forms and contracts. NSBAR offers a wide variety of forms to assist the real estate professional. Agency, lead-based paint, seller disclosure forms, fair housing notices are among those items offered by NSBAR.

Problems & Solutions
Disputes between seller and buyer? We offer Dispute Resolution Service. Disputes between REALTORS®? We offer arbitration hearings. An agent violating the Code of Ethics? We offer hearings. The term Realtor® is a federally registered trademark owned by the National Association of Realtors® (NAR). Not all real estate licensees are entitled to use the term Realtor®. With offices in Chicago and Washington, D.C., NAR provides important services to members and other interested persons, agencies and educational institutions, including research on topics relating to future land use, taxation and other property rights issues. State Association
The Illinois Association of Realtors® provides legal, legislative and education services to members. Thanks to IAR, members have the opportunity to take a wide variety of courses leading to designations such as GRI (Graduate, Realtor® Institute) and ABR (Accredited Buyer Representative) locally as well as at a number of locations throughout the state.
